A new two-storey community mall has now opened in one of Dubai’s most up-and-coming neighbourhoods.

The Grand, based in Nad Al Sheba, will feature local favourites and a top supermarket brand officially opened its doors on Wednesday August 19.

First announced back in 2024, the mall will open in phases and feature several high-quality retailers and restaurants all under one roof.

Wondering what to expect? Here’s everything coming to the brand new mall.

Everything coming to The Grand mall

A new Waitrose supermarket will kick things off on opening day alongside MMI, Heart Cottage Lane, Maple Bear Nursery, Al Jaber Optical and Fixperts.

From early September, the new mall will be home to loads of local favourite spots too, including Tashas, Somewhere Home Bakery, Kokoro, Blu Pizzeria, Bake My Day, Daima, Staywell Pharmacy and Tips and Toes.

Fitcode and American Hospital will complete the destination’s health and wellness offering in early 2027.

Abdulla Binhabtoor, Chief Executive Officer of Shamal Holding, said: “The Grand represents the next phase of Shamal’s long-term vision for Nad Al Sheba and for the communities we create.

“Thoughtful creation has shaped every aspect of the destination, not simply to offer convenience, but to elevate the everyday. More than a community mall, The Grand is a lifestyle destination designed to feel welcoming, connected and effortlessly part of daily life.”

Further details on the remaining openings, experiences and community programming at The Grand will be announced over the coming months.

And we also know that two of Dubai’s favourite foodie brands are going to join forces for a special permanent dual-concept location.

Kokoro Handroll Bar has closed its pop-up at The Square to set up a long-term home alongside Bake My Day.

The space will be split equally between Kokoro and Bake My Day, with each brand having its own distinct design, colour palette and identity all under one roof. Kokoro will serve up its signature handrolls while Bake My Day dishes out the thiiiiiickest cookies in Dubai.

These tasty dining options will be part of the Nad Al Sheba Gardens residential development, around 10 minutes from Downtown Dubai and be in easy reach of DIFC, Business Bay and Meydan.

The mall will serve the community but also be available to visit for non-residents.

The mall is being built with materials that will allow it to sit within the landscape and feature a natural colour palette.

Its architecture will integrate with the landscaped parking and surrounding parks and have a light steel roof supported by vertical columns which should allow natural light into the mall.

The community itself will be a 1.5 million square metre residential space with contemporary three-to-seven bedroom villas and townhouses.

It will include a wide range of amenities for leisure, fitness and relaxation as well as an education campus, walkable roads and cycling tracks.
